Cooperation needed
To the Editor:
I am writing this letter for a couple of reasons. First of all I want to personally thank the Switzerland County Commissioners. I am a paramedic who lives and did work in Switzerland County for Switzerland County EMS for 10-plus years. I was approached by our Commission and asked if I would consider sitting as a representative on the Switzerland County EMS Board for the county Commissioners. The Switzerland County Council also has an appointee who is Steve Crabtree and served for the past several years.
I thought about the opportunity and decided this would be an excellent opportunity to educate myself from the management view and to continue helping my local community. I was excited to be given this opportunity. For reasons that I do not know my appointment to this was challenged by the administration of Switzerland County EMS. When I left Switzerland County EMS it w as continuing my advancement in my career. It was a decision that was not made easily since I reside in this county. I submitted my resignation and two weeks notice appropriately and left on what I would say was good terms.
Throughout this process there has been many accusations and innuendo made concerning myself personally and professionally. This is very unfortunate. I looked upon this new challenge as a way to give back to our community. For all of the support from employees of Switzerland County EMS both past and present I would thank you for your support. I would also like to thank the Commissioners for considering me for the appointment. I would also recognize the public that has supported me in these efforts as well. I hope going forward that there will be parity, fairness and honest decisions made in regards to the management of Switzerland County EMS. Once again I would like to thank the Commissioners for the consideration to be a voice in the process.
Thank you.
