To the Editor:
In response to Mr. Cooney:
You know, it sounds to me – and I may be wrong – that Mr. Cooney is part of ‘the herd’ on the new Religious Freedom Act from Indiana.
You know: the herd is a gang of gathering people that runs through a town yelling to, “Run for your lives! The dam has broken!”
And, after running through town with all the people in tow, one smart person says, “Hey! There is no dam,” and if you don’t agree with them, you are a Nazi; when they are the ones who won’t allow dissent to the herd mentality.
His statement about many wars being fought in the name of religion is a cheap trick. He is lumping them all together, when only one religion today is slaughtering people, and it isn’t the Christians, it’s Islam.
He sounds as if he’s afraid to say it, and he also failed to mention some of the first hospitals in the U.S. were started by Christians.
Maybe he forgets millions killed by ideologies other than Christianity. How about Adolph Hitler? Joseph Stalin? Mao Zadong, and – last but not least – Pol Pot.
Not a Christian in the bunch.
