Both the boys and girls Switzerland County cross country teams took advantage of the cool weather and fast course to set many personal records on Saturday at the Jac-Cen-Del Invitational.
The girls team came away with a third place finish, led by individual champion Leah Anders, who ran a time of 19:30, which is not only a personal best; but it’s also the second fastest time in school history.
Other Lady Pacer runners included: Aleiah Thomas (18th place, 24:00, personal record); Zoe Cole (27th place, 24:51, season best); Allison Detmer (28th place, 25:09, personal best); Bri Vinup (29th place, 25:10, personal best); Josie Meyer (34th place, 27:32, personal best); Mikailah Peterson (36th place, 27:56, personal best); and Veronika Synakova (open race, 29:07, personal best).
The boys were missing a few runners and didn’t have a full team score but the Pacers who ran took advantage of the opportunity.
The boys times are as follows: Garrett Demaree (19:45, season best); Nathan Scudder (21:58, personal best); and Coby Manbeck (22:00, personal best).
“We are excited where the kids are at right now and look forward to the upcoming weeks,” Coach Kris Sandlin said. “We take things day by day and understand the support we have for each other. Our mindset and work ethic are two things we continually stress and it continues to pay off.”
