Switzerland County Lady Pacer Leah Anders finished in 12th place overall in Saturday’s cross country Regional, earning her a spot in this Saturday’s IHSAA Semistate.
Led by Anders, who was the individual winner of the conference meet and finished second overall in the Sectional, the Lady Pacers capped of their season with a run at the Regional on Saturday at Brown County and finished ninth overall as a team, competing against larger 3A-4A schools. At the Regional, she ran a time of 20:21.
“With a younger team, this was a great experience,” head coach Kris Sandlin said.
Senior Cameron Ray missed advancing to the semistate for a third time by just one spot, finishing 32nd overall in a time of 22:02. Zoe Cole ran a time of 24:02 to finish 66th overall; Maggie Clayton was 81st overall in a time of 26:35; Josie Meyer ran a time of 26:58 to finish 83rd overall; Allison Detmer was 85th overall in a time of 29:52; and Alina Frauendorf was 86th in a time of 31:49.
Anders, a sophomore, will now run in this Saturday’s semistate – also being held at Eagle Park in Brown County, with the race scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.
