‘Lady Scots’ make county soccer history


The “Lady Scots” soccer team made up of 10- and 11-year old girls from Switzerland County, made county soccer history this season as they became the first team from Switzerland County ever to advance to the championship game of the Southeastern Indiana Tournament.

The Lady Scots defeated Rising Sun by a 2-1 score in the opening round of the tourney, and then dropped Lawrenceburg by a 3-1 score in the semifinals.

Advancing to the championship game, the team battled hard against another Lawrenceburg team, but fell by a final score of 2-1.

The team completed its season with an overall record of 8-2-1.

The team members include: Mackenzie Anderson, Erika Coy, Lauren Haskell, Josie Giglio, Nicole Leap, Kacie Kimmel, Morgan Kimmel, Kinslea Christman, Angela Johnson, Shelby Mulliken, Tyler Peelman, Anna Lockwood, and Summer Sabath.

The team is coached by Tully Anderson, assisted by Frank Giglio and Megan Stepp.
