It was a great day on Saturday as the Switzerland County Pacer girls and boys varsity cross country teams participated in the Jac-Cen-Del Invitational.
The girls team won the invitational by posting a team score of 22 in the seven-team field (A perfect team score in cross country is 15 — so that shows just how dominate the Lady Pacer team was).
In the girls race, freshman Claire Rogers was the individual champion, running a personal record time of 20:29.
The onslaught continued, as Gracie White earned second place overall with a season personal record of 21:10. Amber Detmer placed third in a time of 21:41; Alisha Detmer placed seventh with a clocking of 22:26; Carlee Boggs placed ninth with a personal record of 22:38; and Ashlyn Covington placed 15th with a time of 23:50.
The Pacer boys team had enough runners to record a team score, and finished eighth overall — including two individual runners finishing in the top 10.
The boys were led by Cooper Hon in sixth place with a personal record of 17:53; while Nathan Furnish was right behind, placing seventh with his second fastest time of the season at 17:57.
Dylan Sullivan placed 29th with a time of 20:13; Derek Hoskins placed 54th with a time of 22:02; Kadyn Riley placed 55th with a time of 22:12; and Daniel Whitham placed 64th with a time of 25:18.
