Lady Pacers win invitational


The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity track team captured the Switzerland County Invitational title last Thursday night from a field of seven schools.

The Lady Pacers finished with 150 points to lead second place Southwestern (108); Jac-Cen-Del (66); Rising Sun (63); Lawrenceburg (42); Milan (26); and Madison Shawe (4).

Bre Hinman had an outstanding night, winning the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:58.51; the 800-meter run in a time of 2:36.64; and she was also a part of the winning 3,200-meter relay team along with Allie Mathews, Taryn Parr, and Paige Ridener in a time of 11:26.53.

Paige Ridener won the 3,200-meter run in a personal best time of 13:50.77 to earn the other Lady Pacer first place points.

Earning second place points were Maggie Armstrong in the discus and the shot put; Andrea Brogan in the 100-meter hurdles in personal best time; Allie Mathews in the 1,600-meter run; and Taryn Parr in the 3,200-meter run, also in personal best time.

The 400-meter relay team of Maggie Armstrong, Alexis Carfield, Brooke Dickerson, and Andrea Brogan was second; as was the 1,600-meter relay team of Bre Hinman, Allie Mathews, Olivia Hewitt, and Emily White.

Third places were earned by Olivia Hewitt in the high jump; Andrea Brogan in the 100-meter dash; Maggie Armstrong in the long jump; and Emily White in the 400-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.

Fourth place points were earned by Carlie Peacock in the shot put; Katie Hall in the discus; Andrea Brogan in the 200-meter dash; Brooke Dickerson in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; and Allie Mathews in the 800-meter run.

Finishing fifth was Alexis Carfield in the 400-meter dash; and finishing sixth was Emily White in the long jump and Olivia Hewitt in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.
