Coach Wayne Ellegood’s Switzerland County Lady Pacer basketball team will have the opportunity to play on a “big stage” on Tuesday, June 28th, with the squad plays in a series of special scrimmages at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The event is part of a promotion by the Indiana Fever, the WNBA team in Indianapolis. Former Lady Pacer Bethany Robinson works for the Fever and also the Indiana Pacers, and has been helping in the coordination and organization of the event.

The event will also involve Bloomfield High School’s girls varsity; and also the varsity girls team from Bloomington North High School — coached by former Switzerland County boys coach Steve Goddard.

The day will kick off with Bloomfield playing Bloomington North at 12:30 p.m. Switzerland County will then play Bloomfield at 1:25 p.m., and the Lady Pacers will then play Bloomington North at 2:15 p.m.

Following the games, the tickets will also admit everyone to that evening’s professional game between the Indiana Fever and the Los Angeles Sparks and superstar center Lisa Leslie.

Tickets for the entire day are $12 each; and need to be ordered by Tuesday, June 7th.

Ticket order forms may be obtained at the Vevay Newspapers office, 111 W. Market Street in Vevay; or by calling Coach Wayne Ellegood at 427-3770; or Coach Fred Ross at 427-3978.

Payment needs to be made at the time the tickets are ordered.

Everyone is urged to attend and support the Lady Pacers basketball team.
