The Switzerland County Lady Pacer soccer team traveled to Corydon, Indiana last Saturday for the annual Silver Creek Tournament.
In the first game of the tourney, the Lady Pacers defeated Silver Creek by a score of 4-1. Goals were scored for Switzerland County by Emily White with two goals; and Mercedes Parham and Bre Ricketts each had a goal.
The win advanced the Lady Pacers into the championship game.
In the championship tilt, Switzerland County took on Corydon.
Freshman Jose Giglio got Switzerland County off to an early lead with a goal in the first three minutes; but Corydon followed up in the 14th minute with a goal to tie the score.
Emily White scored in the 15th minute to regain the lead for the Pacers; and both teams battled back and forth scoreless for the remainder of the first half.
The Lady Pacers ran out of steam in the second half, as Corydon came back, scoring four goals to end the game with a 5-2 score.
The Lady Pacers are currently 4-4-1 for the season.
