The Switzerland County High School boys and girls cross country teams traveled to South Dearborn on Tuesday night for a dual meet, and the Lady Pacers picked up the victory while the Pacers fell to the Knights.
In the girls race, Switzerland County won by a score of 24-32.
Individually, Bre Hinman took first place with a time of 22:17; while Allie Mathews was right behind, finishing second overall in a time of 23:06.
Paige Ridener finished fourth in a time of 24:25; Robin Furnish was sixth in a time of 24:35; and Samantha Reynolds was 11th overall in a time of 30:37.
“The girls have really been working hard this past week.” Coach Mark Boggs said. “I would have expected their legs to be a little tired; however, they continue to battle each race and get better. I felt our two leaders, Bre and Allie, ran great today.”
In the boys race, the Pacers were defeated by South Dearborn by a score of 20-37.
“The boys are still in the process of figuring out various things throughout a race. I am pleased with where we are; however, we cannot get complacent,” Coach Boggs said. “I was very happy with the race Anthony (Dennis) ran. I wanted him to run with the leader for as long as he could and he pretty much did that the entire race.”
Individually, Anthony Dennis finished third overall in a time of 18:35; while Quinn Meyer was sixth in a time of 19:20 and Braden Burk was seventh in a time of 19:24.
Sean Oatman was 10th in 20:21; Michael Douglas was 11th in 20:24; Mikhail Cole was 13th in 21:10; T.J. White was 14th in 21:20; Dakota Taylor was 15th in 21:23; Brady Voris was 16th in 21:26; Zack Rodgers was 18th in 25:25; and Chance Grubbs was 19th in 25:27.
