Lady Pacers pick up win in soccer, 2-0

The Switzerland County Lady Pacers beat Christian Academy Tuesday night 2-0 in girls varsity soccer.

The Lady Pacers came on strong early in the game and kept the ball on the attacking side of the field. Junior Laura Findley intercepted a goal kick from the other team and was able to place a quick shot into the goal in the first two minutes of the game.

Later in the first half, Senior Megan Stepp found the back of the net with another shot, making the score 2-0 going into the half.

In the second half, the Lady Pacers kept up the assault on goal but were unable to find the net. The Pacer defense was able to successfully shut out Christian Academy from scoring; and as a result the final score was 2-0.

Coach Roy Leap said before the opening whistle, the team dedicated the game to Dillon Henry and his family.

“These ladies were on a mission and would not be denied a win,” Coach Leap said.

The Lady Pacers play a home game against New Albany tonight (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. Tonight will be Senior Night at the field to honor the seniors on the team.

Everyone is encouraged to attend.
