Lady Pacers open with three tough road matches
The Switzerland County varsity volleyball team has been on a road to open the season with three straight away games, and those tough matches have resulted in three close losses.
Oldenburg
On Wednesday, August 18th, the Lady Pacers traveled to Oldenburg to take on the Lady Twisters.
Switzerland County fell by score of 20-25; 7-25; 24-26.
Individual stats showed Hannah Hayes with five aces, one kill, and six blocks; Jaden Harrell with seven aces, four kills, five blocks and two digs; Terra Oeffinger with one service ace, two kills and one dig; and Nora Hankins with four aces, three kills, two blocks and one dig.
Also in the contest: Macy Collier had one ace and three kills; Carly Bennett had three aces and a dig; Chloey Thomas had three aces and a dig; and McKaila Peelman had two attacks.
Rising Sun
The following night, Thursday, August 19th, Switzerland County traveled to rival Rising Sun. In a four set match, the Lady Pacers fell by scores of 25-23, 24-26, 13-25, and 17-25.
Hayes had three aces, three kills, two blocks and a dig; Harrell had 12 kills, two blocks, and four digs; Oeffinger had one ace, three kills, and three digs; Hankins finished with one ace, four kills, and three digs; Collier had one ace, four kills, and a dig; Bennett had two aces and two kills; Thomas added two aces; and Peelman finished with one kill and five digs.
South Dearborn
The final of the three opening road contests came on Monday, August 23rd, at South Dearborn. Again, the Lady Pacers fought hard, but fell by scores of 8-25, 23-25, 13-25, 22-25.
Harrell had five kills and a block; Oeffinger had an ace, two kills and one block; Hankins had an ace, one kill and one dig; Bennett had one ace and three digs; Collier added two kills and five digs; Hayes finished with two attacks and one dig; Peelman had one dig; and Molly Wrightsman added one attack.
