The Indiana High School Athletic Association has released its pairings for the upcoming Volleyball State Tournament.
Coach Kodi Thayer and her Switzerland County Lady Pacer volleyball squad will be participating in the Class 2A Sectional being held at North Decatur High School – and they won’t have long to wait to play.
Switzerland County will play Southwestern in the Sectional’s opening match tonight (Thursday, October 20th). The Lady Pacers and the Lady Rebels will square off at 6 p.m.; followed by the night’s second game, featuring Austin and North Decatur, which will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m.
This Saturday, October 22nd, the semifinals will be played in the morning, with the Switzerland County-Southwestern winner playing the Austin-North Decatur winner at 11 a.m. That will be followed by the second semifinal, which will pit South Ripley against Milan in a match that is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
The two winners from the first session on Saturday will then meet for the Sectional championship later that evening, with the title tilt starting at 7 p.m.
There is a $6 admission fee per session; or a fan may purchase a season ticket for all three sessions for $10.
The winner of the North Decatur Sectional will then advance on to the Regional, which will be held on Tuesday, October 25th. The Regional will be played on the home court of the winner of Sectional #46, which is being at Eastern Pekin. Other schools playing in that Sectional include: Henryville, Paoli, Clarksville, and Crawford County.
The semistate will be played at South Decatur High School on Saturday, October 29th; and the State Finals will be played on Saturday, November 5th at Ball State University in Muncie.
