Lady Pacers lose tough match with Shawe

It was a long, five set match, but in the end the Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity volleyball team couldn’t hold on, falling to Madison Shawe by scores of 25-23, 22-25, 20-25, 25-20, 12-15.

Jamie Phipps had six kills, four solo blocks, three block assists, one set assist, 13 points, and one ace; Christina Ahaus had 10 kills, three blocks, and six points; and Katie Rayls had three kills, five digs, one block assist, and eight points.

Rachel Rodgers had three kills, five digs, one set assist, and two points; Lindsay Scott had three kills, three digs, 13 set assists, and 13 points; Rachel Tressler had one dig; Trisha Smith had two kills, one solo block, and two block assists; Jessie Ray had three digs, two set assists, and three points; and Ashley Poling had one dig and three points.

The Lady Pacers travel to Trinity Lutheran tonight (Thursday) for their next match.

The reserve team won by forfeit because Madison Shawe did not have enough players to play a jayvee match.
