The Switzerland County girls varsity golf team continues to make its mark on school history.
This past Saturday, September 2st, the Lady Pacers finished second overall as a team for the second straight year in the Madison Sectional — a feat which has never been done in school history and once again qualifies the team for this Saturday’s Regional.
The Regional will be held at The Legends Golf Course in Franklin, Indiana.
Madison won the Sectional with a team score of 367; while Switzerland County was second with a score of 413; and Scottsburg also advanced as a team by finishing third with a score of 426.
Jennings County was fourth with a score of 430; followed by Charlestown with a 437; South Dearborn with a 479; Southwestern with a 488; New Washington with a 494; and Lawrenceburg with a 505.
Individually, Lady Pacer golfers Alexis Mangold and Payton Stow tied for the fifth lowest round in the Sectional, each shooting an 18-hole total of 99.
Emmianna Dowell of Madison was the medalist with a round of 80; followed by Aleigh Wilson of Madison with a 92; Adalyn Dulaney of Scottsburg with a 93; and Eliza Burnette of Madison with a 95.
Individual scores for the Lady Pacers were: Alexis Mangold 99 (47-52); Payton Stow 99 (51-48); Bri Stow 106 (49-57); Marilynn Dalrymple 109 (53-56); and Makayla Bowling with a 112 (52-60).

The Sectional capped a busy week for the Lady Pacer linksters:
• On Monday, September 16th, Switzerland County won a three-way meet with a team score of 189 to defeat Southwestern (236) and Oldenburg (246).
Bri Stow led Switzerland County with a round of 42; followed by Payton Stow with a 46; Makayla Bowling with a 48; and Alexis Mangold with a 53.
Also playing was: Marilynn Dalrymple with a 54; McKira Scudder with a 55; Eva Zanabria with a 60; and Brelynn Justice with a 63.
Also playing for Switzerland County was Maleah Wolf, Rylee Monjar, but their scores were not available.
• Tuesday, September 17th, the team traveled to Madison to play on the Sectional course.
Madison won the four-way meet with a score of 190; Switzerland County had a 193; Southwestern had a 249; and South Ripley had a 250.
The Lady Pacer trio of Alexis Mangold, Bri Stow, and Payton Stow all fired rounds of 47 to lead Switzerland County; while Makayla Bowling and Marilynn Dalrymple each had a 52.
Eva Zanabria and Maleah Wolf each had a 54; McKira Scudder had a 55; Brelynn Justice had a 63; and Rylee Monjar had a 67.
• The last of three matches for the week came on Thursday, September 19th, when the Lady Pacers had a duel match with New Washington.
Switzerland County finished with a score of 196; while New Washington did not have enough players to record a team score.
Individually: Payton Stow had a 45; Maleah Wolf had a 48; Eva Zanabria and Makayla Bowling each had a 50; while Bri Stow and McKira Scudder each had a 51.
