Lady Pacers golf earns two big wins
After battling stormy weather as their season opened, the Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity golf team was finally able to finish their meets during the past week.
On Monday, August 15th, Switzerland County traveled to North Branch Golf Course in Greensburg for a three-way meet against Jac-Cen-Del and South Ripley.
“We played the Bridge Course and it has some challenging holes for first time players,” coach Natalie Wheeler said. “It is quirky and it’s an advantage to know where to place the ball.”
Even with the challenging course, Switzerland County won the match with a team score of 239. South Ripley was second with a team score of 252; and Jac-Cen-Del had just one golfer, so did not record a team score.
Switzerland County’s Lily Williams shot a round of 56 to earn low medalist honors for the meet; while Kenna Perkins finished with a 58; Eva Zanabria had a 61; Brelynn Justice shot a 64; and McKira Scudder finished with a 65.
