Lady Pacers fall to JCD, beat SR

The Switzerland County Lady Pacer softball team won one and lost one during the past week.

- The Lady Pacers dropped a game to Jac-Cen-Del last Friday afternoon by a score of 5-2.

Offensively, Kelsi Konkle was 1-for-2 with a run scored; a stolen base; and she also drew a walk; Brooke Todd was 1-for-3 with a run scored and three stolen bases; and McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Bre Braun had an RBI; Baylie Scudder and Kaylee Wetzel each had a stolen base; and Hope Tankersley had a sacrifice.

On the mound, Konkle went seven innings, striking out five and allowing five hits. She did not issue a walk in the contest, and only one of the Jac-Cen-Del runs was earned.

Catcher Brooke Todd had a passed ball; and was 1-for-1 catching Lady Eagle runners attempting to steal.

– On Monday, Switzerland County bounced back and claimed a 10-5 win over South Ripley.

Brittney Yocum was the big offensive threat for the Lady Pacers in the game, ripping two doubles and knocking in three runs while going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Brooke Todd was also 3-for-4, scoring two runs, drawing a walk; and accounting for two RBI; and McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with two walks and two RBI. Mallory Phagan was 1-for-3 with a run scored, a walk, and an RBI.

Kelsi Konkle was 1-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base; Hope Tankersley was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, one stolen base, and two walks; Baylie Scudder scored a run; Taylar Jordan scored a run and drew a walk; Kaylee Wetzel scored a run; and Bre Braun reached base after being hit by a pitch.

Kelsi Konkle went the distance on the mound, earning the win.

The win was the first on the season for the Lady Pacers, and made them 1-1 in conference play.
