The Switzerland County Lady Pacer softball team has gotten on a roll with the conference schedule in full swing, earning two ORVC victories to raise their overall record to .500.
– Last Thursday the Lady Pacers defeated South Ripley by a score of 10-2, as senior Kelsi Konkle went seven innings on the mound, striking out six while allowing just five hits and two walks. Only one of the Lady Raider runs was earned.
Konkle also led the way at the plate, as she was 3-for-4 with a double. She also scored a run, and had two RBI.
Alysa Parr was 1-for2 with a walk; Kayla Jordan was 1-for-1 with a walk and a run scored; and Brooke Todd was 1-for-3 with a double, two stolen bases, a walk, and an RBI.
Taylar Jordan was 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored; Bre Braun was 1-for-4; and McKenna Edwards was also 1-for-4 with a double. Kassedy Murray was 1-for-2 at the plate.
Baylie Scudder had a sacrifice, scored a run; and also had an RBI; while Whitely Schirmer and Summer Dickerson also scored runs.
– On Monday night, April 25th, Switzerland County fought its way to a 4-2 win over Southwestern.
Again Konkle led the way offensively, going 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored; while Hope Tankersley was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI.
Todd was 1-for-3 with a stolen base, a run scored, and an RBI; Braun was 1-for-3 with an RBI; Edwards was 1-for-3; and Mallory Phagan was 1-for-3 with a double. Jordan was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
On the hill, Konkle went seven to earn the win, striking out nine and allowing eight hits and two earned runs.
The two wins up the Switzerland County overall record to 5-5 on the season, and the Lady Pacers are now 4-1 in conference play.
