Providence High School won the IHSAA Girls Soccer Sectional #45 held last week at Switzerland County High School; and even though the Lady Pacers earned the runner up slot, team members were honored by being named to the All Sectional squad.
Athletic Director David Todd said that 14 members were named to the team, coming from the seven teams that participated.
Honored from Switzerland County High School were team members Eve Galbreath, Jade Mullins, Bre Ricketts, and Emily White.
From champion Providence, honored were Katie Barron, Erin Duncan, Grace Hess, Leah Mattingly, Jordan Reger, and Emma Roesner.
Lindsay Blackwell was honored from Charlestown; as was Olivia Scarbrough from Silver Creek and Beth Markland from Rising Sun.
Kacey Wallace from Providence was honored as the Sectional’s Most Valuable Player.
Switzerland County will also host the Regional this Saturday, October 13th, featuring Providence against Southwestern, with the game beginning at 1 p.m.
In other teams of note, number one ranked Lawrenceburg will host Union County in the Regionals.
