Lady Pacers dominate Rising Sun with 6-0 win

The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity soccer team kept its season record unblemished last Thursday night with a big 6-0 win over Rising Sun.

The game was as defensive struggle through most of the first half, with the Lady Pacers getting on the scoreboard right before intermission on a goal by Kenzie Taylor.

As the second half got underway, so did the Switzerland County offense got rolling, with the Lady Pacers quickly packing shots into the back of the net to pull away and secure the victory.

The Switzerland County offense was led by Taylor and Halle Archer — who each scored twice; while Emma Parsons had a goal and an assist; Emma South contributed a goal; and Avy Burkholder had an assist.

The win keeps the Lady Pacers atop the conference standings; as Coach Courtney Dayadharum’s squad currently ranks #5 in Class 1A in the MaxPreps poll; while in the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association poll, Switzerland County ranks #20 in Class 1A. The ISCA poll is curious, because in last week’s rankings, the Lady Pacers were #10 in Class 1A — so Switzerland County beat a very-respected Rising Sun squad (ranked #24 in Class 1A in MaxPreps), yet falls 10 places in the rankings.
