Lady Pacers continue dominance on track, earning ORVC title

The Switzerland County Lady Pacer track team has been putting together quite a dominant performance all through the season, and last Thursday was no different, as the Lady Pacers earned the championship of the ORVC meet.

Switzerland County finished with a team score of 115 points, easily outdistancing second place Jac-Cen-Del (93); third place Southwestern (82); and fourth place South Ripley (60). Milan was fifth (52); followed by Rising Sun (39) and Madison Shawe (17).

The Lady Pacers controlled the meet thanks to a deep squad that scored multiple points in nearly all events; and also the outstanding individual effort of sophomore Whitley Schirmer, who garnered two first places and a second place individually.

She won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:42; and she also captured the 3,200-meter run in a time of 13:01.1. She was second in the 800-meter run to complete an outstanding day.

Also winning their event was the 400-meter relay team of McKayli Scudder, Moriah Northcutt, Eve Galbreath, and Megan Dasis, who posted a time of :54.2.

The 1,600-meter relay team of MacKenzie Covington, Jade Mullins, Paige Sawyer, and Megan Dasis finished second overall; as did McKayli Scudder in the high jump.

Eve Galbreath finished second in the 100-meter hurdles and was third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and the shot put; Paige Sawyer was third in the 100-meter hurdles; Megan Dasis was third in the 200-meter dash and the long jump; Natalie Newman was third in the discus and fifth in the shot put; Moriah Northcutt was fourth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; Emma Giglio was fourth in the high jump.

The 3,200-meter relay team of MacKenzie Covington, Emily Campbell, Jade Mullins, and Kim Cutter finished third overall.

MacKenzie Covington was sixth in the 400-meter dash; Katerina Svoboda was seventh in the 400-meter dash; Adeli Kinne was seventh in the 100-meter dash; Brianna Vinup was eighth in the 100-meter dash; Cameron Ray was eighth in the 1,600-meter run; Audrey Kinne was eighth in the 200-meter dash; Riley King was ninth in the 800-meter run; and Jody Breeck was ninth in the discus.
