The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity softball team jumped out to a two run lead against conference foe Rising Sun last Friday night, May 6th, but the Lady Shiners came back to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim the win.
Taylar Jordan continued her hot hitting, going 2-for-4 with a double while scoring both Switzerland County runs. Baylie Scudder also had a great night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a sacrifice and an RBI. McKenna Edwards had the only other Switzerland County hit.
Kelsi Konkle did have a stolen base; while Brooke Todd added a sacrifice and was hit by a pitch. Rachel Ard reached base via a walk.
Konkle went the distance on the mound, suffering the loss against the powerhouse Lady Shiner squad. She recored four strikeouts and walked just three; and only two of Rising Sun’s runs were earned.
The loss drops the Switzerland County overall record to 6-8 on the season; and the Lady Pacers are 5-3 in ORVC play.
