Lady Pacers blast Henryville, 45-30
Coming off of a tough loss the night before against Madison, Coach Brooke Todd’s Switzerland County Lady Pacers hit the road on Saturday night, and returned home with a convincing 45-30 win over Henryville.
“We came out sluggish and took some time to get things going offensively,” Todd said. “We allowed the Hornets to take a 21-10 lead at the half; but we came out in the third quarter with the effort and energy that was required to put the game away — outscoring Henryville 13-0 in the third frame.”
Switzerland County had a balanced effort offensively, with eight different players scoring in the contest.
Courtney Higgins led the scoring with nine points in the contest, and she also added four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Kenzie Taylor had eight points in the game; and Bri Stow had eight points and pulled down four rebounds.
Macy Collier had seven points and four rebounds; Maddie Levell also had seven points; and Halle Archer finished with four points and four rebounds.
Molly Wrightsman contributed one point and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Switzerland County’s win raised the season record to 2-1 heading into a busy weekend — where they’ll be at home tomorrow (Friday) for a battle against Rising Sun for the ‘Ruler of the River’ trophy; and then host Edinburgh on Saturday night. The junior varsity games will begin each night at 6 p.m.
Switzerland County will then travel to North Decatur on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 23rd to take on the Lady Chargers.
