Lady Pacer volleyball team continues rocky season start

The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity volleyball team lost last Thursday night at Shawe Memorial.

The varsity squad lost the first set 17-25, then came back and won two sets 25-23 and 25-23. The team could not earn another win, losing the next two sets 14-25, 7-15.

Courtney Cole had six aces and 12 kills; Kayla Konkle finished with two aces and one kill; and Brittany Hall had one ace and three kills. Jenna Daugherty had six kills, Tanya Sefton finished with two kills, Rachel Tressler had one kill; while Jennifer South and Christina Ahaus each finished with an ace.

The junior varsity volleyball team lost in two sets by scores of 20-25, 13-25.

Katie Hall and Chaithy Compton each had two aces; Ashley Poling finished with two kills.

On Saturday, August 26th the varsity Lady Pacers participated in the Madison Invitational.

The first game was lost to Southwestern in two sets by scores of 11-25,14-25.

Christina Ahaus had one ace and one kill; Melissa Raisor had an ace; Jennifer South finished with two kills; while Brittany Hall and Tanya Sefton each had one kill.

The second game was lost to Carroll County in two sets by scores of 20-25, 23-25.

Courtney Cole had four aces and two kills; Brittany Hall and Tanya Sefton each had one ace and one kill. Christina Ahaus finished with two kills; while Jennifer South and Jenna Daugherty finished with a kill each.

In the tournament’s third game, Switzerland County lost to Madison in three sets by scores of 16-25, 25-20, 10-15.

Courtney Cole had two aces and seven kills during the games; Christina Ahaus finished with three kills; and Jennifer South, Jenna Daugherty and Katie Rayls each finished with a kill each.

On Tuesday, August 29th the varsity Lady Pacers lost to the Lady Indians at Milan High School. The Lady Pacers lost in three sets by scores of 12-25, 13-25, and 7-25.

The jayvee team lost in two sets by scores of 19-25 and 14-25.

The Lady Pacers will be playing tonight (Thursday) start time will be at 5:30 p.m. against South Dearborn.
