Lady Pacer volleyball preps for Sectional tournament
The Switzerland County varsity volleyball team will enter the State Tournament trail beginning on Saturday, October 15th.
Coach Erin Gregory’s Lady Pacers are a part of the Class 2A Sectional #45 being played at Hauser High School.
The Sectional begins on Thursday, October 13th, when North Decatur takes on host Hauser beginning at 6 p.m. That match will be following at approximately 7:30 p.m. with a match featuring Milan versus Southwestern.
Action then shifts to Saturday, October 15th, when Switzerland County will play the winner of the North Decatur-Hauser match beginning at 11 a.m. That match will be followed at approximately 12:30 p.m. when South Ripley plays the winner of the Milan-Southwestern game.
Those two winners will then return later on Saturday, October 15th, when they play for the Sectional title beginning at 6 p.m.
The winner of Sectional #45 will then advance to Regional play, where they will play in Regional #12 which will be held at Mitchell High School on Saturday, October 22nd.
Other Sectionals feeding into Regional #12 include: Brownstown Central Sectional #45 (Austin, Brownstown Central, Clarksville, Eastern Pekin, Henryville, Mitchell, and Paoli); Eastern Greene Sectional #47 (Eastern Greene, Linton-Stockton, North Daviess, North Knox, South Knox, and Sullivan); and Perry Central Sectional #48 (Crawford County, Forest Park, North Posey, Perry Central, South Spencer, and Tell City).
RISING SUN INVITATIONAL
Switzerland County participated in the Rising Sun Invitational on Saturday, October 1st.
The Lady Pacers went 2-1 on the day in their three matches.
Crothersville
Switzerland County opened the tournament with a two sets to one victory over Crothersville: 22-25, 25-18, 15-12.
Rising Sun
In the second round of the invitational, Switzerland County fell to host Rising Sun by scores of 25-22, 5-25, 7-25.
Carroll County
The Lady Pacers concluded the day and the tournament by earning a big win over Carroll County (Kentucky).
Switzerland County won in straight sets by scores of 25-9, 25-6.
