Lady Pacer volleyball continues season


The Switzerland County jayvee and varsity volleyball teams aren’t posting wins, but both squads are playing hard and making improvements as the season moves forward.

Last Tuesday night, the Lady Pacers were defeated by Jac-Cen-Del.

The junior varsity team fell by scores of 20-25; 15-25; and the varsity lost by scores of 24-26; 11-25; 23-25.


On Thursday night, coach Tammy Martin said that both teams played extremely well, but in the end, fell to Madison in jayvee and varsity action.

The junior varsity lost by scores of 22-25; 25-14; 11-15.

Trisha Smith had nine points, eight kills, and five digs; Jessie Ray had one point, one ace, seven assists, and two digs; and Hayley South had three points, five assists, two kills, and two digs.

Sam Morgan had nine points, two aces, one kill, and eight digs; Ashley Poling had seven points, two kills, and seven digs; and Shayla Smith had three points, one ace, two kills, one block, and one dig.

The varsity team fell by scores of 20-25; 18-25; 20-25.

Christina Ahaus had one block, six kills, and three points; Kayla Keith had one block, one kill, and one point; Jamie Phipps had one dig, three kills, two points, and one ace; and Ariel Clark had four digs, five assists, three kills, seven points, and one ace.

Also: Rachel Tressler had four digs, one kill, eight points, and two aces; Lindsay Scott had one dig and four assists; and Katie Rayls had one point.
