The Switzerland County Lady Pacer track team has been on the run, with two meets during the past week.
Last Tuesday night, Switzerland County won a four-team meet that it hosted. The Lady Pacers compiled 100 points to defeat Jac-Cen-Del (60) South Ripley (47) and Madison Shawe (19).
Freshman Whitley Schirmer was the outstanding performer for the Lady Pacers, as she won the 1,600-meter run and the 800-meter run; and she also anchored the winning 3,200-meter relay team.
Senior Bre Ricketts recorded a personal best time of :17.2 in the 100-meter hurdles; and freshman Mackenzie Covington had an outstanding meet, earned three second place finishes. She was second in the 400-meter dash, the 800-meter run, and was a part of the 1,600-meter relay.
Freshman McKayli Scudder won the high jump.
On Thursday night, Switzerland County finished second overall in the Rising Sun Invitational.
South Dearborn won the invitational with 133 points, followed by the Lady Pacers with 103. East Central tallied 72 points; Rising Sun had 66; Southwestern finished with 63; and Lawrenceburg had 23 points.
Junior Megan Dasis won the long jump in the invitational, and also anchored the winning 400-meter relay team. She also ran a career best time of :27.07 in the 200-meter dash.
Eve Galbreath earned two first place finishes, as she won the 100-meter hurdles with a career best time of :16.65; and she was also a member of the 400-meter relay squad.
Bre Ricketts again lowered her career-best time in the 100-meter hurdles, running a time of :16.84 in finishing second overall in the event.
The Lady Pacers now ready themselves for tonight’s (Thursday’s) ORVC Conference Meet at Jac-Cen-Del; and will be in action next week in the Jeffersonville Sectional.
