The season for the Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity girls track team came to a close last week at the Franklin County Sectional.
Although no Switzerland County runners advanced out of the Sectional, coach Adam Dennis was still very proud of his squad’s effort.
“The girls competed well,” Coach Dennis said. “They will return a very good core group next year. Andrea Brogan finished a very successful track career here. For four years she put the team first in what many people call an individual sport. We are very proud of her for that.”
At the sectional, the team finished 10th in the 14-team field.
Sixth place points were earned by Brooke Dickerson in the long jump; Robin Furnish in the 1,600-meter run; Olivia Hewitt in the high jump; and the 400-meter relay team of Andrea Brogan, Amanda Chatham, Bre Ricketts, and Brooke Dickerson.
Bre Ricketts was seventh in the long jump; and the 3,200-meter relay team of Allie Mathews, Bre Hinman, Paige Ridener, and Robin Furnish also finished seventh.
