The Switzerland County girls varsity swim team participated in a three-way meet last Tuesday, November 15th. The meet was held at South Dearborn High School, and featured the Lady Pacers, the Lady Knights, and the Batesville Lady Bulldogs.
Batesville won the meet with 155 points; followed by South Dearborn with 95 and Switzerland County with 34.
Individually, Switzerland County’s Allison Furnish had an outstanding night, establishing two new school records.
She set a new mark in the 200-yard freestyle by finishing second overall in a time of 2:23.66; and she also established a new school record in the 50-yard freestyle when she swam the opening leg of the 200-meter freestyle relay in a time of :28.31. Other swimmers in that relay, which finished fourth overall in a time of 2:31.32, were Alina Frauendorf, Bailey Crawford, and Mary Streett.
Furnish also finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:20.06; and was a part of the fourth place finishing 200-yard medley relay, along with Frauendorf, Streett, and Moriah Northcutt, which recored a time of 2:37.23.
Streett finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of :31.92; and was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:12.25.
Luiza Sawaya was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 2:10.22; and was sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of :52.93.
Frauendorf was fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:45.64. Crawford was sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:51.47.
Northcutt was sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 3:26.47; and was sixth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:28.87.
