The Switzerland County Lady Pacer softball team raised its season record to 6-0 overall with three wins during the past week.
Last Thursday, Switzerland County hosted Milan, and defeated the Lady Indians 2-1 in a closely-fought, well pitched game between Switzerland County’s Kodi Driver and Milan’s Courtney Crabtree.
The two Lady Pacer runs were scored by Ashley Bright in the first inning and Holly Jackson in the seventh inning. Coach Steven Konkle credited some key walks, hits, and bunts in the final inning for leading to the win.
Kodi Driver went the distance on the mound and recorded four strikeouts in the game; and also had three singles at the plate and a run batted in.
Natalie Daugherty had the key hit in the contest, drilling a walk-off double with the bases loaded for the game winning RBI in the final stanza.
Holly Jackson, Brittany Cole, and Jaclyn Ranz all had singles in the game; while Ashley Chase connected for a triple.
Switzerland County was also active on the base paths during the game, getting two stolen bases by Jaclyn Ranz and Kodi Driver; and one stolen base each from Tanya Sefton, Natalie Graham, and Holly Jackson.

The Lady Pacers then traveled to North Decatur on Saturday for a round-robin doubleheader with North Decatur and Jac-Cen-Del.
In the first game, it was Switzerland County defeating North Decatur by a score of 9-5.
Kayla Konkle picked up her first varsity win on the mound, going six innings and recording one strikeout. Kodi Driver came in to pitch the seventh inning, getting two strikeouts to earn the save.
Tanya Sefton was 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored, three runs batted in, and two stolen bases; and Brittany Cole was also 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in one run. Ashley Chase was 2-for-4 with a run scored; Holly Jackson was 1-for-2 with two RBI; and Ashley Bright was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, two stolen bases, and one run batted in. Kodi Driver was 1-for-4 at the plate, stealing a base; Natalie Graham scored a run; and Jaclyn Ranz scored two runs and stole two bases.

The second game of the doubleheader saw Switzerland County defeat Jac-Cen-Del 11-4 after the Lady Pacers got off to a rocky start, falling behind 3-0 after just four batters in the first inning.
Kodi Driver settled down on the mound and went on to record eight strikeouts while allowing just six hits. At the plate she was 1-for-4 with a run scored and a run batted in.
Natalie Graham had an outstanding day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a run scored and one run batted in; and Ashley Chase was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI. Courtney Cole was 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring a run and knocking in two.
Ashley Bright was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI; Holly Jackson was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a run batted in; and Brittany Cole was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI, and she also had the team’s only stolen base of the contest.
Jaclyn Ranz scored two runs in the game; and Natalie Daugherty had a run scored.
