Wrapping up their regular season and preparing for Sectional play, the Switzerland County Lady Pacer softball team earned two big wins during the past week.
On Friday, May 13th, the Lady Pacers defeated New Washington by a score of 10-0 in five innings.
Kassedy Murray went the distance on the mound to earn the win. She struck out six and allow just two hits and one walk.
Offensively, Kelsi Konkle was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, a stolen base and an RBI; while Brooke Todd was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, a stolen base and two RBI.
Baylie Scudder was 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored; McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with three RBI; Whitley Schirmer was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base; and both Mallory Phagan and Kayla Jordan were 1-for-3.
Taylar Jordan was 1-for-4 with a run scored; and both Rachel Ard and Kelby Rogers accounted for runs scored.
On Monday night, May 16th, the Lady Pacers earned an important conference win with a 9-3 victory over Jac-Cen-Del.
Konkle was the winning pitcher on the night, going seven innings and striking out eight while allowing just five hits and one walk.
Taylar Jordan was 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the offense, as she connected on a double, stole two bases; and knocked in three runs.
Murray was 1-for-2 with two RBI; Hope Tankersley was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases; Scudder was also 1-for-3 with a stolen base, a sacrifice, an RBI and a run scored; and Kayla Jordan was 1-for-1.
Todd was 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base; Konkle has a stolen base and a run scored; Ard scored two runs; and Phagan plated a run.
The two wins push the Switzerland County record in conference play to 9-8, and they are 7-3 in the ORVC.
