Lady Pacer soccer team is playing hard


The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity soccer team has started the season at 1-3.

– The first game saw the Lady Pacers hosting Milan in a tough 4-2 loss. Kinsley Griffith and Calleigh Powell scored goals for Switzerland County, with assists going to Powell and Matty Anderson.

– Switzerland County defeated South Ripley in Versailles 5-1 to earn their first win of the year.

Kinsley Griffith recorded the hat trick with three goals in the match; while Emma Giglio and Calleigh Powell each recorded a goal.

– This past week the Lady Pacers traveled to Hanover to take on the Southwestern Rebels. The two teams battled the first half to a 3-2 advantage for Southwestern. Lady Pacer goals were scored by Emma Giglio and Kinsley Griffith.

Switzerland County dominated ball possession for most of the game, but could not find the net on 10 shots on goal in the second half. The final score was 3-2 in favor of Southwestern.

– Last Thursday Switzerland County traveled to Madison to take on the Lady Cubs. The Lady Pacers were defeated 2-0.

“We are playing pretty well overall while developing players and mixing them with the few returning starters we have,” coach Tully Anderson said. “The bright side is we have been playing hard and competing in every game and we are happy with that. We will continue to improve and play hard. This is a great group of girls who are fun to coach.”
