Lady Pacer soccer hitting its stride

Battling through injuries, the Switzerland County Lady Pacer soccer team earned two big wins during the past week.

– Switzerland County traveled to Southwestern for a conference contest, and the game was very closely fought, with the Pacers pulling out a 2-1 victory.

Coach Jeff Mullins said that it was a very humid day, and with both teams fighting some injuries – neither team had very many subs. Both teams played very well though.

Both of the Pacer goals were scored by junior Taylar Jordan; and Melissa Furnish had an outstanding game on defense.

– The Lady Pacers soccer team hosted Rising Sun on Thursday, September 3rd.

It was a match that the Pacers won by a score of 2-1, but it did not come easily.

The Shiners struck first on the only mistake that the Switzerland County defense made all night.

Coach Mullins said that he got great defensive play from seniors Bre Braun and Samantha Christerson; junior Melissa Furnish; and freshman Calleigh Powell.

Switzerland County’s two goals were both scored by Taylar Jordan.
