Lady Pacer soccer earns win over Milan

The Switzerland County Lady Pacers squeezed out a 2-0 conference win over visiting Milan on Tuesday night, September 6th.

Coach Jeff Mullins said that the Lady Pacers played flat for the first 20 minutes and relied on their consistent defense to control the game.

At the 18:18 mark of the first half, Lady Pacer Rylee Hankins scored from 35 yards on a direct kick. “Rylee has a big time leg and can score from anywhere past the midfield line,” Coach Mullins said. “She just scored from 50 yards out on Rising Sun.”

That was all the scoring for the first half.

At the 28 minute mark in the second half, winger Taylar Jordan crossed to Emma Giglio at the 12 – who finished with a one touch shot in to the net finishing out the scoring.

The Lady Pacers defense of Kimberly Cutter, Matty Anderson, Calleigh Powell, Melissa Furnish and Keeper Allison Bruce held Milan to just two shots on goal. This was the Pacers fourth shutout and improved their record to 4-1-1 overall.

With the win, the Lady Pacers improved to 3-0-1 in conference play, with a showdown with Rising Sun at home this Tuesday, September 13th. The team will be honoring our military men and women at this game and the Lady Pacers invite the community to come out and support the team. The game will start at 5 p.m.
