The Switzerland County girls varsity golf team continues into the strength of its season as the squad readies for the Conference Meet this Saturday.
• On Monday night, the Lady Pacers traveled to Hillcrest Country Club in Batesville to play against Oldenburg. Batesville’s team was also at the course, so that team made it a three-way meet.
Switzerland County played well, finishing second behind Batesville with a score of 236. Coach Natalie Wheeler reports that the team score on Monday was 41 strokes better than the team’s first meet.
“They are continuing to improve everyday,” the coach said.
Batesville finished with a team score of 172; followed by Switzerland County with 236. Oldenburg did not have enough players to record a team score.
Individually for Switzerland County: Hailey Hines led the team with a 52; while Lily Williams fired a 58. Rori Ware had a season-best round of 61; while Brooklyn Flanders had a 65 and Kenna Perkins finished with a 66.
This Saturday is the ORVC Conference meet at Butler Falls in Hanover, beginning at 9 a.m.
The golf team had its sixth meet of the season last Wednesday night in Milan against South Dearborn.
The Lady Pacers won the match with a team score of 240; while South Dearborn came in with a score of 251.
Switzerland County individual scores included Hailey Hines with a season best 51; Lily Williams with a season best 56; Brooklyn Flanders with a personal best and season best 64; and Kenna Perkins with a 69.
