The Switzerland County Lady Pacer softball team will enter Sectional play this Monday at home, but the squad has been stumbling towards the end of its regular season.
The Lady Pacers fell to New Washington last Friday night by a score of 10-1.
Baylie Scudder led a limited Switzerland County attack by going 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI; and Brooke Todd was 1-for-3.
McKenna Edwards had a run scored; while Bre Braun and Taylar Jordan picked up walks.
Kelsi Konkle suffered the loss, going six innings, allowing eight hits while striking out for. Only four of the New Washington runs were earned.
On Monday night, Switzerland County dropped a conference game to Jac-Cen-Del by a score of 6-3.
Brooke Todd led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and a stolen base. Kelsi Konkle was 1-for-3 with two RBI; and Hope Tankersley was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Kassedy Murray drew a walk; Taylar Jordan had a sacrifice; and Summer Dickerson scored a run.
On the mound, Konkle took the loss, striking out nine and giving up five earned runs.
Switzerland County now heads into Sectional play this Monday evening when the team plays Austin in the second game at approximately 6 p.m.
Switzerland County is hosting the Sectional on the Lady Pacer field.
