Lady linksters compete in ORVC meet

The Switzerland County High School girls varsity golf team finished fourth overall in the first ever ORVC Girls Golf Tournament. The tourney was held on Saturday at Spring Hill Golf Course at Hanover.

Southwestern won the conference title with a team score of 370; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 406; South Ripley with 423; Switzerland County with 426; and Milan with 461. Rising Sun did not have enough players to record a team score.

Senior Jenna Daugherty led Switzerland County with a score of 98 in the 18-hole tourney. That score helped her finish eighth overall, earning her All Conference honors. She was also named as the recipient of the Mental Attitude Award.

Junior Tiffany Lucas shot a score of 100 to finish 11th overall, which also earned her a spot on the All Conference team. Other Lady Pacer scores included Karoline Park with a 114; Kelsi South with a 116; and Emily Lanman had a 126.

Lakin Davis South Ripley was the individual medalist of the meet with a score of 72.

Steve Bright of Southwestern was named as the Coach of the Year.
