Switzerland County junior Kyle Whitham was the last Pacer standing of the sports year; as he participated in the IHSAA Golf Regional held at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville, Indiana, and Thursday, June 8th.
Having qualified as an individual for the Regional, Whitham fired an opening nine hole score of 51; and then followed that up with a score of 50 on the back nine for an 18-hole total of 101.
The score was misleading, however, as Whitham had the bad luck of scoring an 11 on the par-5 third hole, which inflated his overall round score.
Overall, Center Grove won the Regional with a team score of 278; followed by Columbus North with a 290; and Bedford North-Lawrence was third with a score of 301.
Individually, Joey Wiseman of Corydon was the low score medalist, beating Matt Vorndrun of Columbus North in a playoff after both golfers fired scores of 67.
Nick Osterburg of Perry Meridian, Ethan Shepherd of Center Grove, and Sam Jean of Center Grove all had scores of 68.
