Kyle Green, Mark Sharp are All-ORVC

The Ohio River Valley Conference has announced its All Conference team for boys basketball, and two members of the Switzerland County Pacers have been honored with inclusion on the team.

Juniors Kyle Green and Mark Sharp were honored as parts of the 12-member team. Players are nominated by their coach, but coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Kyle Green led the conference in scoring this year; while Mark Sharp led the conference in assists.

Both were key contributors to Coach Brian Bowen’s Pacer squad that won a share of the ORVC conference championship.

Joining the two Pacers on the All Conference team were:

Brandon Gehl, Matt Gehl, and Blake Sutton of Jac-Cen-Del; Myles Hornsby and Zeph Vaughn of Rising Sun; Tyler Kirk of Milan; Tanner Mahoney and Zach Scrogham of Southwestern; and B.J. Sieverding and Trent Tucker of South Ripley.

Brian Bowen was named as the conference’s Coach of the Year; along with David Bradshaw of Jac-Cen-Del; and Brandon Gehl of Jac-Cen-Del was named as the winner of the conference’s Mental Attitude Award.

Switzerland County and Jac-Cen-Del shared the varsity conference championship; while the junior varsity championship was shared by five teams: Switzerland County, Southwestern, South Ripley, Rising Sun, and Jac-Cen-Del.
