Jayvee soccer is second in Scottsburg tourney

The junior varsity boys soccer team from Switzerland County High School played well on Saturday at the Warrior JV Tourney held in Scottsburg.

The Pacers finished in second place.

The Pacers won their first game over Austin by a score of 3-2 with a last minute goal.

The Pacers then played Scottsburg in the championship game. The squad came out on fire against the hometown team according to Coach Brian Grigsby, scoring two goals in the first half and shutting the Warriors out.

Scottsburg then came back in the second half, scoring two goals in the back of the net in the first 15 minutes; and scoring the game winning goal in the last five minutes of regulation.

“Our boys looked good this weekend,” Coach Grigsby said. “They played with a lot of heart. Congratulations to Nathanial Christerson, who scored his first goal in the championship game.”
