Jayvee Pacers claim Rivertown Classic title with victory over South Dearborn

Coach Mark Boggs’ Switzerland County Pacer boys junior varsity basketball team earned the championship of the JV Rivertown Classic on Saturday afternoon with a 39-28 victory over South Dearborn.

The game was played here at the Switzerland County gym, and followed the JV girls championship game, which saw Lawrenceburg defeat South Dearborn.

In the boys game, Braden Burk put on an offensive show, finishing with 17 points and four rebounds to lead all scorers.

Riley Phagan had six points and three assists; Ben Curran had six points; and T.J. White added four points and seven rebounds.

Justus Powell had two points and five rebounds; Nathan Hunter had two points and three rebounds; and Bob Tressler had two points and two rebounds. Dakota Taylor didn’t score in the game, but pulled down seven rebounds.

The Pacers return to action tomorrow (Friday) night when they entertain Southwestern in an Ohio River Valley Conference game beginning at 6 p.m.
