The Switzerland County boys junior varsity basketball team advanced to the championship game of the Jayvee Rivertown Classic on Tuesday night with a 45-43 win over South Dearborn.
Coach Mitch Hobson’s squad won the night and the game with a balanced scoring attack; scoring 12 points in the first quarter; seven in the second; 10 in the third and 16 in the crucial final stanza.
Cade Rider led the Pacers with 16 points on the evening, including a big first period where he scored eight points on a pair of three pointers. He would also hit three-pointers in the third and fourth quarters.
Damian Breeck was in double figures with 12 points; and Dalton Tingle made it three Pacers in double figures, as he had 10 points.
Justin Chatham, Landon Wilks, and Tyler Perry each had two points; and Kenyon Bledsoe contributed a freethrow.
The win puts the Pacers into the championship game this Saturday morning at Lawrenceburg against the winner of the Lawrenceburg-Rising Sun game that was played on Tuesday night at Rising Sun.
