Jayvee baseball wraps up season


The junior varsity baseball team for Switzerland County High School finished its season with a record of 3-6.

The team recorded two victories against Madison Shawe; with the other victory coming against Southwestern. The Pacers finished the year strong with a couple of narrow defeats followed by a two game winning streak.

Defense, pitching, and hitting all steadily improved throughout the season. Pitching leaders included: Blaze Chase, Brady Scudder, and Celby Kinney; who each ended the year with a win.

Hitting was led by Blaze Chase (.500), Skylar Harmon (.389), and Tanner Gray (.368). The Pacers registered 55 hits, of which 12 were for extra bases. The team completed the season with an excellent team batting average of .316.

Overall, it was a successful year for the jayvee with a primary goal of developing players to compete on the varsity level.
