Switzerland County bounced back from its first loss of 2005 with a 54-26 beating of Lawrenceburg Thursday.
The Lady Pacers got 10 first quarter points from senior guard Jaclyn Ranz and then shut the Tigers down in the second and third quarters to steadily pull away to the 27-point win.
Thanks to Jaclyn Ranz, the Pacers took a 10-5 lead after a quarter, outscored Lawrenceburg 9-4 in the second quarter and 15-5 in the third before putting the game well out of reach in the fourth by doubling up the visitors 20-10.
“Jaclyn Ranz had all 10 of our points in the first quarter. We needed somebody to pick us up and she really did that,” said Pacers’ head coach Wayne Ellegood.
“We played pretty well. We executed our offense really well and we picked out a few things to do better against them defensively,” said Wayne Ellegood. “We didn’t give up as many points and our kids really stepped up.
Jaclyn Ranz scored a career-high 20 points on 9-of-21 shooting to go with four steals while senior center Brittany Cole scored eight to go with a game-high 12 rebounds and senior forward Holly Jackson had four points, six rebounds and three steals.
