The 2017 edition of the Switzerland County 4-H Fair is now in full swing; and there are still plenty of events and activities for everyone to enjoy until this year’s fair comes to a close this Saturday, July 15th, with the annual livestock auction.
The 4-H program is one of the most successful programs for young people in the county, with 270 members entering approximately 1,100 projects both in the Exhibit Hall and at the Show Arena this year.
The fair kicked off on Saturday night with the crowning of Summer Dickerson as this year’s Miss Switzerland County; and more honors were bestowed on Monday night, as Peyton Perkins and Pierce Swango were crowned as this year’s Little Miss and Little Mister.
One of the big changes that everyone needs to be aware of this year is the adjustment in the starting time of the livestock auction on Saturday night. This year’s auction will begin earlier, at 2 p.m., with the buyers dinner beginning following the auction at 4 p.m.
With four days left of the fair, be sure and come and support the children and the community by checking out all of the exhibits and booths.
Here’s a rundown of the rest of the 2017 Fair Week:
