The 2019 edition of the Switzerland County 4-H Fair begins this Saturday, July 6th and running through the livestock auction on Saturday evening, July 13th.
This year’s fair was highlighted with the crowning of this year’s 4-H Fair Queen last Thursday night, as Hailey Dornbusch will reign over this year’s festivities along with her court.
Also highlighting this year’s fair is the return of carnival rides, provided by Derby City Amusements. The rides take the place of grandstand events this year, with many of the rides being located in the grandstand area. Fairboard members hope that the return of amusement rides will attract more visitors to this year’s fair, and bring back that “old time fair” feeling for the entire county.
Rides will be open Wednesday, July 10th through Friday, July 12th from 5-10 p.m.; and on Saturday, July 13th from 4-10 p.m. Cost is $1.50 per ticket; or all you can ride bands for one day are $20.
Other fair events got going this past Monday, July 1st, when the Fashion Revue was held in the Community Building. There are also no gate entry fees this year, so it’s a great week to bring the family to the fair each and every night.
