Imagination Library brings books to kids

The Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc., would like to remind everyone that children five years of age and under who reside in Switzerland County are eligible to receive free books through the “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library” program.

To receive the books, parents must register their children by visiting the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library website at www.imaginationlibrary.com; or by calling the Community Foundation’s office at (812) 427-9160. Once a child is registered in the program, they will receive one free, age-appropriate, book in the mail every month until their fifth birthday.

In order for a community to participate in the program, it must pay for the books and the mailing, promote the program within the community, register the children, and enter all the information into the mailing database. In return, The Dollywood Foundation carefully chooses the books each year to ensure that the very best children’s literature is delivered and then mails individual books to the homes of enrolled children. The Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Switzerland County was launched in 2006 and is administered by the Community Foundation.
