The Ohio County Historical Museum will feature their historic quilt collection in conjunction with the Southeast Indiana Quilt Expo. The antique exhibit will take place on September 8, 9 & 10 at the museum located at 212 S. Walnut Street in Rising Sun. The Quilt Expo will take place at Rising Star Casino Resort on the same days.
Owned by Gene and Jill Elliott, the museum will also highlight the 1840s Shepherd-Bovard Wedding quilt and a sewing machine collection loaned by Sue Lemons.
A preview of the historical quilts will be held at the Rising Sun museum on Wednesday evening, September 7 at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The preview is free to Ohio County Historical Society members with a free-will donation appreciated from non-members.
Special museum hours will be Thursday, September 8 from 6-9 p.m.; Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
