The Switzerland County girls varsity golf team participated in its Conference Meet this past Saturday, September 5th, with outstanding results.
The meet was held at Butler Falls in Hanover, and the Lady Pacers earned third place overall. Switzerland County was just two strokes behind second place Shawe Memorial; as Southwestern claimed the conference crown.
Individually, Switzerland County had two golfers earn places on the All Conference team:
• Hailey Hines placed fourth overall with a round of 98.
• Lily Williams placed sixth overall with a score of 111.
Other Lady Pacer scores included: Rori Ware with a 119; Brooklyn Flanders had a 123; and Kenna Perkins had a 136.
Hines posted a new personal best on one of her nine hole scores (48); and also for her 18 hole total. Ware had a new personal best on one of her nine hole scores (57) and her 18 hole total; Williams tied her personal best for nine holes (54) and had a personal best for 18 holes; and Flanders had a new personal best on nine hole scores at a 60.
Coach Natalie Wheeler said that Perkins was consistent on her round and had a 68 on both nines, which was a few strokes off of her personal best.
Switzerland County has three regular season meets left — all at Sunrise in Madison — and then Sectionals on September 19th.
Last Wednesday night, September 2nd, the Lady Pacers participated in a golf meet at Sunrise in Madison against Southwestern, Shawe, and Jac-Cen-Del, and Switzerland County placed third overall.
Southwestern won the match with a team score of 228; followed by Shawe with a score of 233 and Switzerland County right behind with a score of 238. Jac-Cen-Del did not have enough golfers to record a team score.
Individually, Switzerland County was led by Hailey Hines, who recorded a personal best and season best round of 49. Lily Williams finished with a round of 61; Rori Ware and Brooklyn Flanders each fired rounds of 64; and Kenna Perkins finished her round with a score of 70.
