The Switzerland County archery program hosted the second annual Southeast Indiana Shootout this past Saturday at Switzerland County High School in which nearly 200 archers were registered representing school teams from Jefferson, Ripley, and Switzerland counties.
Switzerland County High School shot its way into second place in the high school division with a score of 3,112; falling to Madison (3,156) and topping Jac-Cen-Del (3,046), Southwestern (2,971), and Christian Academy of Madison (2,912) respectively.
Top Overall and Female archer honors went to Natalie Owens of Jac-Cen-Del shooting a field best 292. Benjamin Hardin of Madison paced the male division shooting a 280. Switzerland County’s Matt Roland earned second place in the High School Male division with a score of 275.
Coach Kyle Woolston said that many personal bests were shot on the day as the rest of the team performed as follows:

The Switzerland County Middle School team also seen action Saturday at the Southeast Indiana Shootout. The Middle School Pacer Archers shot a season high 3,040, which earned them a third place finish on the day in the middle school division.
Taking top team honors was Southwestern (3,188), followed by Madison (3,077), Switzerland County (3,040), and Jac-Cen-Del (2,936). Lakyn Wilson of Southwestern took home top honors for middle school individual with a score of 284.

Other Pacer archers competing in the field on Saturday included: Isabella Robinson 213; Nathan Scranton 202; and Kaitlyn Yeary 187.
Both teams will be in action this Saturday at the Indiana State NASP Tournament in Indianapolis.
